I'm not complaining, though. I have a great group of kiddos, and it's a week of adjustment for all of us. I was awake for the majority of Sunday night wondering if I actually knew how to teach, but I was greeted in my classroom by very cute flowers and encouraging words from my principal Monday morning. It put me at ease, and as soon as kiddos walked in, I was so excited to start our year.
That afternoon, my sister sent me a "bouquet of newly sharpened pencils," a la You've Got Mail, an often-quoted staple between the two of us. It totally made me smile, and my wonderful week continued with school and a girls' night with Little Miss. She loves sparkle nail polish (another staple at my house), and we got to pick out a fresh color to paint while watching Mickey Mouse & eating Oreos. It's what aunts are for, and it was the way to spend a Tuesday for this newbie teacher! I can't wait to see what week two has in store...hopefully a little more routine ;)
