Remember when I predicted I'd need six naps to keep up with younger kiddos? I was pretty accurate...just call it an educated guess if we're sticking to teacher talk. I got a call to sub for a 2nd grade class I'm familiar with at the elementary I've been working with on a non-PE day, and I leaped at the opportunity! And I would again.
The kids are super-cute, but they require an energy of me I didn't know I had. Also, I have no idea where it came from, but I'm so thankful for it! I think their teacher deserves a coffee on her desk each morning, and in fact, this is a program I think we should look into! :) Bless her. In fairness to 2nd-graders nation-wide, this particular class presents more challenges than some classes might, but that's reality. Also, their teacher takes on this challenge with more enthusiasm and passion than many could, and I so admire her for it, and so do her students.
My own experience, though, was a day of trying to predict what they'd come up with next and answer their questions before they had them. Their questions are much different than those of 6th-graders, but it's been good for me to learn with everyone! In other news, we've reached the weekend, and I hope you get the chance to rest up & find your own energy!
