That sounds so corny in print, but it's not meant to be. Yes, I have aspirations about my career, and I'm following my dreams, but I literally dream about my school days. Not in a weird, dreaming of my students/creepy way, but in an annoying way - I can't escape it! It's not all bad, it's just really odd to wake up and realize you just dreamed about teaching guided reading and taking anecdotal notes.
I told another teacher this, though, and she said especially as a new teacher, her dreams were overtaken by school for about three years. She said it worked for her, though, and she kept a notebook by her bed to write down the great lessons she kept teaching in her dreams :) It's what we do.
Anyway, I start teaching PE Tuesday (yikes!), and I, once again, had a dream about second-graders playing "sink the ship" last night. I also have dreams about building rockets, teaching novels, and talking through dividing fractions. Help me, Rhonda! At least in my PE dreams I'm in my yogas - it's got its perks, people!
