I got done at school early & had a piano lesson a couple hours later. I decided to kill time at Target (a favorite pass-time), only to arrive and see a student. This is bound to happen, right? Right. However, this particular student has "one of those parents" who would, undoubtedly, corner me in Target to discuss school for the next half-hour. I'm so glad for parents with interest in their children's lives, truly, but not at Target necessarily.
I made a bee-line for the toilet bowl cleaner and Kleenex, and found myself out of Target, and sitting with time to spare. After killing a little more time at Home Goods, I had an hour left, and really no need to spend any more money.
My good friend lives near piano, so I called to see if she wanted to grab coffee, but she didn't answer. Instead, I went to a local bakery, which wasn't necessary, but it was a rainy day & I forgot to pack snacks (never good). As I walked in, I felt suddenly weird that I was there to simply order cookies I would be eating in my car alone. I ordered two cookies hoping it wouldn't look so obvious that I was about to eat this solo...I was hoping it would look like I had a friend to join me!
Seriously, Mere? I'm an over-thinker, and I did end up sharing my cookie with my friend later, but as I walked to my car (to eat my cookie, no less), all I could think was that Mindy Kaling could really take some episode cues from this single girl. I'm pretty sure she'd also order two cookies in this situation.
