October is normally a month I love to whip up fall treats and pick pumpkins. However, October in the Midwest has been far warmer than I'm comfortable with, so all those cozy treats have sounded really heavy! As far as the pumpkins go, our go-to patch at my parents', along with my picking partners have been hard to come by. You may remember a post that mentioned a niece/nephew coming in January, but that cute little bugger made HIS appearance much sooner than anyone was ready for! We aren't complaining, though; he's doing so well, all things considered, and who doesn't love a love-bug to stare at? Seriously, I could stare at him for hours (and I do), and as soon as he's a little stronger, I can't wait to snuggle him for hours. Traveling to see my cutie nephew and his momma and parent-teacher conferences have taken a lot of my cooking/blogging time, but I thought I'd share a few of the months' highlights so far, and I hope to have more recipes to share in the coming weeks!
