My parents are celebrating their 40th anniversary today! These love-birds got hitched pretty young, but it seems like it's working out :) They always have been and continue to be such an amazing example of two people who are dedicated to their family, their faith, and each other. I could talk about 'em all day, but instead, I'll just wish them a very happy anniversary and many more wonderful years to come. I can't imagine life any other way. I just plain love 'em. Happy anniversary, Mom & Dad!
Little Miss is two today! I won't get all sappy, because I'm not the mom, but two years ago, I left the hospital in a downpour to go buy pink birthday cake, and I'm so excited to celebrate again today....Minnie-mouse-style is her mode of thinking two years later. Although, the cupcakes from that first day are definitely some she would go to town on now. Happy birthday, love bug!
I had high intentions of writing this last night (as I often do before publishing from bed in the morning), but I've been sidetracked by The Fault in Our Stars. You guys. I cannot put it down. I feel like I'm 14 again, but I need to finish this book so I can go see the movie! I had to remind myself at 11:00 last night that I have a big-girl job, and I needed to be awake for it. it's Monday, after all. Anyway, I'm typing this up in a reading break, and hopefully next time you hear from me I've finished it!
I had a friend-filled, fun weekend at an outdoor country concert. My friend and I (and a new friend!) met at a halfway-ish spot between us and made a weekend of it. Even though we all arrived in cute clothing (in my opinion), we made our first stop the mall & found new summer dresses before heading downtown. Let me back up, ice cream was also involved, because what's a girls' weekend without it?
We took in the concert and midnight beef jerky (is that ever recommended?) Saturday, and got some coffee before heading back home yesterday. I met another friend at the mall once I got home, and any weekend that includes two shopping trips is absolutely wonderful in my book! It was so fun to catch up, and I have a busy week ahead with (hopefully) cool stuff to share in teacher talk.
Welcome! I'm a twenty-something teacher taking on newly-wedded bliss in Small town, USA. I love cooking, spoiling those I love, and writing all about it. I'm glad you're here!
