It's true, I've been off the blogosphere for the better part of a week, but can you blame me???
I traveled with my parents and one of my sisters and her husband to Jamaica for the wedding of a close family friend last week. Luckily, we'll get the chance to celebrate with all the families next week at a state-side reception, but we had a blast! I did go in to school yesterday to collect my sub notes, grade some tests, and make sure the transition back into my working life isn't too rough. I'll admit, getting dressed and going to work on a Saturday was not a treat after a week of swim suits and rum! By the way, did you know it's possible to get sick of rum? I was as baffled as you are.
Our days were filled with food, sun, sand, drinks, and friends. Forty close friends traveled south for the week, and it was a beautiful setting for a wedding. While some did go on more excursions, we stuck pretty close to the pool and beach. We did go snorkeling Monday, just to break up the ride on the way to Margaritaville ;) We had so much fun, and while it's going to be a rough week back in clothes and diet plans, we have such great memories, and I can't wait to celebrate again in a week! I'm hoping to have more recipes to share this week, but bear with me as we start state testing the week before spring break. It's a sick joke...I'm convinced!
Welcome! I'm a twenty-something teacher taking on newly-wedded bliss in Small town, USA. I love cooking, spoiling those I love, and writing all about it. I'm glad you're here!
