It's been sparse 'round this blog lately. That's my bad. I'm going to blame the nice weather, end-of-the-year grades and projects, and a lack of cooking due to both! However, I grilled some pork chops the other night & enjoyed them on my deck with a beer and olives (South Dakota martini, anyone?), and this sauce on the side was delicious.
My favorite BBQ joint has a delicious mustard BBQ sauce, and I recreated it with Paula Deen's recipe a few years ago. I had it in my fridge all summer for pork chops, but this week, the recipe was nowhere to be found. Instead, I pulled together some strong flavors, but they complimented each other, and this was super tasty!
Mustard Sauce (best over pork)
1/4 C. grainy honey dijon mustard
1/4 tsp. tabasco
3/4 C. brown sugar
1 T. maple syrup
1 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
4 T. butter
Whisk together over medium heat; simmer 20 minutes before cooling. Store in a sealed jar up to one month.
