A year ago, my mom found herself the proud owner of a case of a new Bloody Mary mix after running into the distributor and professing her love for a good Bloody Mary. Half the case was spicy mix, and we quickly discovered it's darn near too spicy to drink. I thought of this bread, and sought out a recipe. Even in the bread, the mix gives a kick, but it's a great flavor, and you could use any mix for this.
Bloody Mary Bread
2 T. honey
2 tsp. yeast
1 C. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 C. wheat flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. olive oil
Warm mix (about 30 seconds in the microwave). Mix Bloody Mary mix, honey, and yeast until honey dissolves. Add remaining ingredients, and knead 5 minutes. If dough is too sticky, add flour 1 T. at a time.
Allow to rise 1 hour. Divide into two loaves, and cut slices in the top. Allow to rise 1 more hour, preheating oven to 450.
Bake 450 for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400, and bake another 10 minutes.
