I have seen these chocolate-dipped pretzels in many forms, flavors, colors, and levels of extravagance, but I decided to keep this fairly simple. Now, while these are still definitely a treat, I was also looking for something semi-healthy and snack-like to give my class in the morning at snack time versus having my treats lost in the shuffle of our parade and party. Pretzels seemed like the trick, and these were done in under ten minutes...which was a treat!
Next time I color almond bark, I will used an oil-based food coloring to prevent clumping. However, I melted my white almond bark in my microwave, doing so on 70% power so I didn't burn the bark. After stirring in my coloring for a light orange, I poured the almond bark in a tall glass to dip the pretzels; they laid on waxed paper to dry, and I sprinkled them with black sanding sugar for a Halloween touch. They're storing in an air-tight container after drying for a couple hours last night, and I think they'll be the perfect school treat!
